Software Engineer

Location: Washington, DC

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Develop and manage the analytics data processing environment
  • Execute all phases of systems and programming activities to include systems design, program design, coding, debugging, documenting, testing and implementing procedures with minimal supervision
  • Extract, compress, sample, and transform large data sets
  • Design, build, and administer an analytics data base in SqlServer
  • Implement model algorithms within the data analytics environment
  • Develop exception reports for data outliers or missing data
  • Implement data approximation algorithms
  • Measure, score, and report analysis results utilizing a variety of reporting methods
Develop programs to automate functions in the Mapping data environment
  • Develop new map products with the Mapinfo software tool
  • Automate mapping functions for the mapping analysts
Develop and implement reports that identify key business trends
  • Develop trend reports utilizing SQL, MS Excel, and MS Powerpoint for our business customers in Finance, Marketing, and Operations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficient with the data base design and administration of a SQL Server database (3-5 years experience as a SQL Server Programmer)
  • Strong programming skills in VB, VB.Net, or C# (minimum 5-7 years experience)
  • Proficient with manipulating large data sets in relational databases (3-5 years experience),
  • Proficient with MS Excel and VBA (1-2 years experience)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good business aptitude and attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum or 5-7 years work experience

Responsible for the analysis phase of a project, eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, working with the business in assessing need, and the creation of the business architecture for a project, using a variety of analysis tools and techniques.

  • Use effective facilitation techniques to gather business requirements.
  • Use variety of tools-analyze and map business requirements/create business architecture for a project. May include the following techniques: Case analysis, Context diagrams, Functional & non-functional design& Process modeling. Plan/facilitate requirements sessions, running highly functional and effective JARS (Joint Application Requirements sessions) Collaborate with Architects for creation of Rough Order of Magnitude estimates for new projects.

  • Strong organization and communication skills; must clearly communicate technical issues and resolutions to customer/clients, other departments and senior management.
  • Strong writing and documentation skills. Working knowledge of data network technologies, enterprise storage technologies, (SAN, NAS etc), server consolidation technologies, server virtualization technologies, and disaster recovery technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

Test Engineer

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Job Description
Looking for a Senior Test Systems Engineer. The primary purpose of this position is to provide experienced test system and electrical engineering leadership on complex stimulation lead product development initiatives from concept through production release.

Essential Functions of the Job
  • Assist throughout multiple lead projects for test equipment and support, including electrical, mechanical and RF test systems which can consist of specifying, designing and building test systems to be used for the testing of leads products.
  • Serve as an electrical technical resource to other cross functional team members.
  • Define product requirements.
  • Create detailed test plans for evaluation and verification of implantable leads.
  • Design, fabricate or source test equipment and fixtures.
  • Conduct and manage test completion, including life cycle testing.
  • Prepare reports on results.
Position Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience with a minimum of 3 years working on medical device reliability and/or test engineering. Experience with establishing system requirements, system design and construction, equipment verification and validation. Experience in development, testing and evaluation of implantable devices. Ability to write protocols, analyze data, interpret results and write technical reports. Proven ability to complete projects following product development guidelines on a timely basis, within scope, and with minimal supervision
  • Specialized knowledge needed for performance of job: Experience with Solidworks, LabView and other reliability and statistical software desired. Knowledge of MRI and other RF field generating equipment desired. Working knowledge of GMP, ISO and FDA regulations and expertise in design controls within a regulated industry.
  • Special Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, follow-through and organizational skills. Work well in a cross-functional team that includes internal and external customers.
